Hunter comes from a family that understands both the academic expectations and athletic commitment required of a collegiate student-athlete.
His mother, Kelly Bruce, M.A., has served students at Atlantic Community High School since 2005. As the counselor for 11th- and 12th-grade International Baccalaureate Diploma and Career Programme students, she specializes in academic planning, college admissions and scholarship preparation.
His father, Tim Bruce, is a former collegiate swimmer, entrepreneur and second-degree Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt with decades of experience as a competitor, coach, instructor, referee and published contributor to the sport. He is also a co-founder of NovaGenix Health & Wellness.
Hunter and his twin sister will graduate in spring 2027 and begin college in fall 2027. She hopes to attend Florida State University.
